Jonny here, I decided it was about time I added a post to keep you all entertained by and informed about our travels. Jill has had to pass this role over to me as she is busy sorting out our ‘Laundry’! (Have to make it feel a bit like home for her!!!)
So we spent a lot of today on the road, nine hours in fact! We made our way from St Louis across Missouri to near Oklahoma City in you guessed it…..Oklahoma, about 550 miles or so. We’re back to a campsite after a few days in hotels it’s a KOA again. If you’re not sure what a KOA actually is check this website for lots more details. Thankfully this campsite has met with Jill’s approval for limited number of spiders and other beasties, so my head won’t be turned like it was back at the last one at Niagara Falls.
When we arrived this evening the lady at reception, Jo, was very interested to know where in England Newtownabbey might be as she had never heard of it before! (We booked online, so she had our address before we got here) I soon informed her that Newtownabbey wasn’t in England but actually part of the 6 occupied counties, sorry Northern Ireland.
As we spent most of today driving there isn’t much to report activity wise. Strangely I’m starting to like listening to country music stations while driving, maybe I’ve been in America for too long, it could be something to do with moving closer to the wild west or perhaps I just like the dulcet tones of Dolly Parton and her country friends I’m not quite sure yet.
Jill tried her hand at driving some more today which went ok, i.e. we had no accidents. Only problem is while Jill’s at the wheel tensions rise in the car. In truth this is mostly because I have to repeatedly point out that we are driving halfway onto the hard shoulder instead of in the right lane……its hard to please some people, I’m only trying to help!! So in the interests of us getting along with each other for the rest of this trip and on bigger scale the stability of our marriage it has been decided to limit Jill’s driving to a minimum at least for the foreseeable future anyway.

Tomtom shows the way
I think I’ve probably bored you all enough with my ramblings so I’ll sign off, also the wash is done and I hear there maybe some folding required whatever that is…….
Tomorrow we’re off to explore Oklahoma City to see what it has to offer. We’ll report back tomorrow night.
Jonny and of course Jill!
